At Powerhouse Embryonics, our mission is to act with integrity to provide cutting-edge, innovative assisted reproductive technologies to cattle producers throughout Canada.
Embryo transfer (ET) is an advanced reproductive technology. ET helps the breeder produce more offspring from cows of high genetic merit and utilizes recipient animals to maximize the genetic potential of donor animals.ET is offered in the clinic or on farm. Embryos can be transferred fresh or frozen.
Superovulation of the donor animal is done by hormone
treatment which causes multiple follicles to ovulate. Management is very important in determining the success of the conventional flush process. During the course of 17 days your animal will need to receive a number of time sensitive injections meant to superovulate and bring about estrus.

The fertilized ova (egg) will develop into embryos which will be flushed from the donor animal 7 days after insemination known as flush date. The flushing process is non-surgical procedure. After flushing the cow, the embryos are examined under a microscope, graded based on morphology and are then either transferred to recipient animals or frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen for later transfer into recipients
After completion of embryo transfer, our clinic will call you for an update on the heats and pregnancy results. At Powerhouse Embryonies, our mission is to act with integrity to provide cutting-edge, innovative assisted reproductive technologies
